Finales extraordinarios

En esta previa del DVD “Finales extraordinarios” el GM Marc Narciso junto al MF Adrián Randazzo realizan un notable trabajo analizando 3 interesantes finales.

En el primer caso muestran un final de torres jugado entre los GM Grover y Sadler en el torneo “B” de Tata Steel en 2012. Si bien en la posición en donde comienza el análisis las blancas poseen 3 peones de menos, la actividad de sus piezas sumado a la pobre ubicación del rey negro en el borde del tablero hacen la posición sea muy compleja. La partida finalizó en tablas, pero lo más extraordinario se puede ver en una variante que omitió el jugador de blancas en donde de forma similar a un estudio hubiera podido lograr la victoria.

En los dos siguientes ejemplos el GM Marc Narciso muestra dos partidas que él mismo jugó en Internet arribando a finales muy llamativos. En el primero se estudia otro final de torres, en el segundo caso aparece una carrera de peones en la cual el blanco tiene un caballo y las negras una torre. Ambos finales son muy instructivos.

This means that in these variations he will be playing Bf4 or Bg5 combined with the move e3. This move reinforces White’s d4 pawn a bit more and steers the game into a bit different type of position because Black’s counterattacks in the center are not as strong anymore. Black needs to know what to do against this set-up or he may find himself lost without a plan because of the differences he is not used to. After seeing the basic set-up, we are shown some things that Black can try. This includes his attempt at chasing down White’s dark square bishop and also pawn pushes in the center of the board. These pawn pushes open lines for his pieces, specifically his dark square bishop, which is Black’s strongest piece. How can Black fight against White’s center despite White’s reinforcement?
